Normally the week before Christmas brings car sales to a halt. People are out looking for gifts for loved ones so unless they have a huge urgency to buy a car, they are going to concentrate on other things. And for years we have known this and accepted it. Well let me say that this year has killed all of those habits to which we have become accustomed.
As a matter of fact, this year saw sales not only not slow down, but we saw them ramping up. This past weekend, I saw more car sales than I did the weekend before and it was at that point that I just quit trying to predict any sort of number when it comes used-car sales.
And when we talk about sales, we are talking about not only used, but also about new. The reason that is important is that new-car sales drive the used as well. People who buy new cars are usually driving a used car and that creates a new opportunity. And with opportunity comes sales.
So what does this mean for the new year? That is a great question. I think that January will be a really interesting month. I think it will set the pace for the coming year.
And will all of this what will it mean for you? I think that if you are going to be in the market for a change of vehicle in the new year this will be to your advantage. You are going to have plenty of selection and I believe that interest rates are going to remain low as well.
With the new year upon us get ready. Somehow I think you are going to get a great deal.
